Jannat Maqbool, FCPA

Technology Strategist — Business Development Manager, Australian Urban Research Infrastructure Network, University of Melbourne

With nearly three decades of experience across financial services, education and local government in Australia and New Zealand, Jannat has led initiatives spanning AI, data, smart cities, the Internet of Things and digital twins. She helped establish the University of Waikato's Artificial Intelligence Institute and the Artificial Intelligence Researchers Association, and led industry programs for Australia's government-funded AI Adopt Centre. She currently serves on the Australian advisory board at Mission Ready, the IoT, Modelling and Simulation, and Robotics Committees at Standards Australia, and the board of the Digital Economy Council of Australia. Jannat holds a Master of Digital Business and brings a practical, people-centred perspective to conversations about technology, education and the future of work.
